Abstract:
To realize a tape applicator that can positively detect a work-piece position with required accuracy, does not impede device compactification and, moreover, is highly compatible with the forms of work-piece carrying-in and tape application.SOLUTION: A tape applicator 1 comprises a work-piece transport mechanism 20, a tape application mechanism 30, a work-piece detector 23 and a control unit 50. The control unit carries out a work-piece carrying-in detecting process comprising an advancement detecting step that advances the work-piece by the work-piece transport mechanism until after the work-piece is detected by the work-piece detector and a retraction detecting step that, thereafter, reverses the transport direction of the work-piece transport mechanism, retracts the work-piece and stops it if the work-piece becomes not detected by the work-piece detector, and carries out a tape application process by the tape application mechanism with reference to origin-point information acquired in the work-piece carrying-in detecting process when carrying-in of the work-piece is confirmed in the work-piece carrying-in detecting process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
