Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a tape tension controller capable of always keeping constant tape tension by instantaneously controlling the rapid change of tension.
CONSTITUTION: In accordance with the difference between prescribed tension and the output of a tension detecting means 4, a driving means 2 vibrates an ultrasonic frequency to a tape guide 1, and the coefficient of friction between the tape guide 1 and the a tape 5 is changed. Consequently, the traveling load of the tape 5 on the tape guide 1 is changed, then the tension in feeding side of the tape guide 1 is controlled constant to a traveling direction.
