This tapered snap ring for fixing the component to the shaft or to the hole of the housing is characterized in that thicknesses of a hook of the tapered snap ring and a part of a ring part are made thinner than that of the other portion of the ring part. There are no limit on a method for thinning the thicknesses of the hook of the tapered snap ring and a part of the ring part, nor on shapes of them, however, the thinning can be achieved by pressing, cutting and polishing.
