To provide a tapestry tone fabric excellent in endurance by forming a reverse woven fabric without damaging ridge like protuberances formed by core warp yarns at the reverse side of the tapestry tone fabric main body formed by weaving many colored weft yarns selectively for each of the steps of the weft yarns in an automatic loom and weaving the sink yarns of the colored weft yarns in the above reverse fabric.

This tapestry tone fabric is obtained by arranging surface-tacking warp yarns 12 and reverse-tacking warp yarns 13 by separating them into the surface side and the reverse side of the fabric and forming the reverse fabric at the reverse side of the fabric by interlacing tacking weft yarns 15 with the surface-tacking warp yarns 11 and the reverse-tacking warp yarns 12. The core warp yarns 11 is arranged at the surface side of the fabric against the reverse side fabric and floated on the reverse fabric without interlacing with the tacking weft yarns 15. The colored weft yarns 14 are woven into the reverse fabric and floated selectively from the reverse fabric. The colored weft yarns 14 floated from the reverse fabric are made to clear over the selected core warp yarns 11B and then passed through below the left and right core warp yarns 11A, 11C that are adjacent to the cleared core warp yarns 11B. The core warp yarns 11 are made as thicker than the surface-tacking warp yarns 12 and made as continued linearly.
