To provide a tapping device capable of removing chips adhering to a tapping body, giving lubricity to the tapping body and suppressing the consumption of a lubricant to the minimum.
The tapping device includes: a tool unit having the tapping body 18 which is rotatable by receiving the driving of a rotationally driving source; an operation unit supporting the tool unit movably to a desired position; a container 40 which is provided in the movable region of the tool unit, has an opening so that the tapping body 18 can be inserted and stores a lubricant 41; and a magnet 42 disposed so as to form a magnetic field in the lubricant 41 of the container 40. Thereby, the chips 30 adhering to the tapping body 18 can be removed, the lubricity is given to the tapping body 18 and the consumption of the lubricant 41 can be suppressed to the minimum.
