Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a game device respecting a baseball pitching decision device, a baseball game and pitching technique by displaying an area part of the strike zone of a thrown ball by lighting lamps coordinated in horizontal and vertical directions with a panel being struck when a ball strikes the panel.
CONSTITUTION: The strike zone of a target 14 are composed of panels 26-42 which are connected to the backboard 24 by pegs 64 allowing each panel to move. Springs 74 are placed between each of panels 26-42 and the backboard 24 and switches 76 are placed between each panel 26-42 and the backboard 24 by pushing each panel 26-42 outward. The switches 76 are electrically connected to the power source and arrays of lamps 44-60. When a thrown ball touches the panels 26-42, a panel at the lower side of a foamed cover 62 moves toward the backboard 24, the switch 76 of the lower side of the panel closes, lighting the lamp and displays the pitching position.
