PURPOSE: To obtain the teaching head for a laser robot with which the teaching operation is easy and the safety is high by providing a setting mechanism which sets the length in a specific axial direction an the arbitrary value within a prescribed range and a measuring mechanism which measures the set length and displays the same.
CONSTITUTION: The teaching head 1 is constituted of a holder 10 and a micrometer part 20 and the holder 10 is fixed to the front end of an arm 2 of the laser robot by means of a bolt 11 in place of, for example, a head for boring. The setting mechanism and the measuring mechanism are constituted of the micrometer 20. The length L in the optical axis direction is continuously changed by turning a knob 23 of the micrometer 20. This length L can be directly read with a scale 24 and the exact teaching data is obtd. by setting the same in conformity with the fluctuation of the image point position of the laser light. A spring 13 inserted between the micrometer 20 and the holder 10 shrinks and the failure is prevented if excessive impact is applied on the front end by contact with the work 5.
