PURPOSE: To telephone by abbreviated dialing even when the titled device is used as a public telephone by using a magnetic card or an IC card in which plural telephone numbers and abbreviated numbers corresponding to the telephone numbers are registered.

CONSTITUTION: To the main body of the titled device, a card-insertion part 7 into which the magnetic card or IC card that contains the telephone numbers and the abbreviated numbers corresponding to the the telephone numbers can be inserted, is provided. When either card is inserted in the part 7, a card reader 31 reads telephone numbers and abbreviated number, and the numbers are stored in a CPU 11. When an abbreviated number is called from a control part 9, the CPU 11 selects corresponding telephone number, and a selection signal transmitter 20 calls said number.
