In the telescopic actuator, axial relative displacement of a male screw member 95 and a female member 96 in an axial direction can be output as a thrust force by relatively rotating the male screw member 95 and the female screw member 96, which are mutually screw-fit, by a motor 36. If a vibratile external force or a large external force is input, although there is a possibility that unintended telescopic motion of the telescopic actuator 14 is caused as the male screw member 95 and the female screw member 96 are relatively rotated by slip, it is possible to prevent the unintended telescopic motion by generating a frictional force between the male screw member 95 and the male screw member 96 by axially energizing one of the male screw member 95 and the female screw member 96 to the other one with a coil spring 101 and suppressing the relative rotation.
