To solve such a problem that an excavation direction has to be changed by hanging an excavation machine by a crane during an excavation process because the volume of the excavation machine in a vertical shaft is excessive.
A relatively-small-volume excavation implement 30 is provided inside a telescopic ring plate by being supported and fixed by mutually pressure contact between the telescopic ring plate 21 and an inner wall of the vertical shaft. A vertical opening 22 is provided on the one side of the telescopic ring plate for supporting the inside of a steel casing, and one or more positioning structures 24 and an actuator 23 are provided in positions on both the sides of the vertical opening of the inner wall of the telescopic ring plate, respectively. The radial length of the telescopic ring plate is set shorter than that of the steel casing, and the telescopic ring plate is expanded by an operation of the actuator and fixed in the state of pressure contact with the inner wall of the steel casing. Excavation work is performed in a fixed state; and the steel casing is swung by a pipe swinging machine when the excavation direction is changed.
