A tuner section 101 receives a broadcast wave and a separation section 102 takes out program information from the broadcast wave. An SI processing section 105 extracts program genre information of a program under viewing from the program information. A display information control section 110 is holding a plurality of program genres, display items corresponding to respective program genres and information of acquisition sources, and reads out display items corresponding to the program genre of a program under viewing and the information of acquisition source thereof from the information thus held. The display information control section 110 performs control such that information corresponding to a display item is acquired from an acquisition source indicated by the acquisition information and displayed at a video display section 113.
