To provide a television camera system, control method and program for achieving an optimal video level through simple operation.

A television camera system comprises: a division and selection means for dividing a photographing screen obtained from an imaging sensor into multiple blocks and arbitrarily selecting any divided block as a photometric area; a control means for detecting the quantity of incident light in the photometric area and automatically adjusting a video level; a point means for adding a point specifying a subject in the photographing screen on a monitor; a conversion means for recognizing a position of the point in a screen specified by the point means and converting data at a position of one of the multiple divided blocks into photometric area data that a television camera has; and an information transmitting means for transmitting the position of the block to the control means.
