To solve such the problem that since a portable television receiver differs in radio wave reception intensity depending on places and there is a channel that a user can not view, there is a case wherein the user can not view a desired channel to be viewed even when specifying the channel through a remote controller.
The television receiver that receives a digital television broadcast includes an RF section which receives the digital television broadcast, a channel control section which periodically switches reception frequencies of the RF section, a broadcast transmission line analysis section that analyzes reception electric field intensity of the digital television broadcast output from the RF section, a communication section which communicates with other equipment, a data analysis section which analyzes reception parameters of the communication section, a remote control data generation section which generates remote control data according to results of the broadcast transmission line analysis section and data analysis section, and a remote control communication section which transmits the remote control data to the remote controller.
