Abstract:

To provide a temperature characteristic correcting method of a rotation angle detector for accurately correcting the temperature characteristic of a Hall element, and to provide the rotation angle detector.

The rotation angle detector 10 detects the rotation angle of a detected object. A rotor core 12 and a permanent magnet 14 rotate with the detected object. A Hall IC 30 detects magnetic flux density varied by rotation of the rotor core 12 and permanent magnet 14, and outputs it as voltage. The Hall element mounted in the Hall IC 30 has a temperature characteristic where the offset voltage and sensitivity vary with temperature. A temperature characteristic correction value for correcting the temperature characteristic of the Hall element is set according to the magnetic flux density in the detection range of the Hall element, thereby accurately correcting the temperature characteristic of the Hall element regardless of the magnetic flux density.
