To construct a system in order to accurately measure an actual strain by compensating temperature in the case the strain distribution over long distance of a structure or the like having different temperature at each place is measured using an optical fiber.
The temperature compensating system for measuring the strain distribution using the optical fiber is provided with optical fibers for measuring strain and for measuring temperature being disposed in close proximity on the structure or the like, a strain measuring instrument, a temperature measuring instrument, and a data processing device carrying out data processing which includes temperature compensation for the measured strain value on the basis of the result of the temperature measurement.
