To improve the reliability and durability of an electromagnetic coil by reducing power consumption required for heating around a sealing device to prevent leak from an open type compressor during a low temperature.
When a compressor atmospheric temperature detected by a temperature sensor 36 is lower than a first preset temperature, a compressor heater 28 provided on a casing 11 around the sealing device 15 is energized for heating around the sealing device. When the compressor atmospheric temperature is lower than a second preset temperature which is lower than the first preset temperature, the electromagnetic coil 23 of an electromagnetic clutch 20 is also energized for heating around the sealing device with the electromagnetic coil in addition to the compressor heater. The compressor heaters are provided in numbers and at least either the first or second preset temperatures are set in numbers. The number of compressor heaters can be increased which are energized as the compressor atmospheric temperature lowers.
