Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the surface temperature of a fixing roller from rising high just after the power source is turned ON.
CONSTITUTION: The surface temperature T0 of the fixing roller just after the power source is turned ON is detected by a thermistor 3 and stored in a RAM 9, etc., and then the temperature is detected at any time thereafter. A CPU 5 calculates the inclination of the detected temperature and when the inclination becomes constant, the detected temperature is represented by a primary function of the temperature T and time (t); and the CPU 5 finds the value T of the primary function when t=0, namely, the temperature value just after the power source is turned ON. Further, the CPU 5 calculates a temperature difference DT between this temperature value and temperature T0 and decreases the set temperature by DT. Consequently, when the detected temperature reaches the set temperature, the actual surface temperature is DT higher and the desired set temperature which is initially set is obtained.
