Title:
TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT DRIVE UNIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000205113
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce the power consumption by providing a shape memory alloy formed into a strand and exhibiting super-elasticity by current-carrying, a drive body operated by current-carrying, and at least one bias spring connected to the drive body.

A shape memory alloy member 2 is formed into a strand by bending and bundling a wire material in the center, one end thereof is connected to a power source electrode 6, and the other end is connected to an earth electrode 7. A bias spring 4 has one end connected to a support part 9 and the other end connected to a drive body 2 to energize it in direction X2. When a current is carried to the shape memory alloy member 2, it exhibit super electricity to energize the drive body 3 in direction X1 and retains it in a position close to a fixed wall 5. Accordingly, the drive body 3 is moved in the direction X1 or in the opposite direction X2 by limiting the feed of the current. Since the same memory alloy member 2 is formed in the strand shape, the energizing force to the drive body 3 is increased, and the power consumption for the operation of the drive body can be reduced.
