To provide a temperature detection device that can accurately calculate an error included in a first voltage drop amount Vf1 serving as a detection amount of a first temperature sensitive diode T1# (#=p, n) or a second voltage drop amount Vf2 serving as a detection amount of a second temperature sensitive diode T2#.
In a pre-drive state of a first switching element S1# and a second switching element S2#, a value in accordance with a difference between the first voltage drop amount Vf1 and the second voltage drop amount Vf2 is calculated by a differential amplifier circuit 26. The calculated value is converted into a time ratio signal by a comparator 28 and a carrier generation circuit 34 and the converted time ratio signal is transferred to a control device 14 via an interface 18. Then, in the control device 14, on the basis of the transferred time ratio signal, errors of the first voltage drop amount Vf1 and the second voltage drop amount Vf2 are calculated and then, a threshold value temperature to be used in a power saving process is updated on the basis of the calculated errors.
