Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature estimation circuit and a counter circuit capable of estimating a temperature and correcting a count value in response to a fluctuation in oscillation characteristics of an oscillator.SOLUTION: The oscillation frequency of an oscillator 11 is substantially stable with respect to a temperature change, whereas the oscillation frequency of an oscillator 12 linearly changes with the temperature. An enable-period setting section 13 sets a prescribed-number counting period of an oscillation signal SA of the oscillator 11 as an enable period EN. A counter 14 counts the number of oscillations of the oscillation signal SB of the oscillator 12 for the enable period EN. A storage unit 15 stores the output from the counter 14 as a first count value M1 during a test at a first temperature T1. A storage unit 16 stores the output from the counter 14 as a second count value M2 during a test at a second temperature T2. An arithmetic unit 17 calculates an operating temperature Tmp on the basis of an operating-time count value M output from the counter 14 during normal operation and the first and second count values M1 and M2 read from the storage units 15 and 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
