Exhaust gas from a dryer with the drying method set in a reduced pressure and suppressed in evaporation air volume is passed through a suction pipe 3 and discharged into water by an ejector pump 2 to bring it into contact with water. Atmospheric air is force fed into a water tank by an air fan 4 to the gas floating up to the water level, converted to low temperature and low malodor gas. Exhaust gas is passed through a spiral partition plate 5 together with the force fed air and through a deodorizing column 10 stacked with Japanese cedar chips as packed materials 8. The exhaust gas is deodorized by deodorizing bacillus spontaneously generated in the packing materials.
