Title:
TEMPERATURE MEASURING DEVICE FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09166495
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a device for measuring the temperature of molten metal at a certain depth time-sequentially.

The temperature measuring device consists of a cylindrical holder with a through hole at the tip, a consumption-type metal pipe-covered optical fiber 2 which is inserted into the cylindrical holder and is dipped in a molten metal, and an optical fiber supply means 4 for feeding the consumption type metal pipe-covered optical fiber 2 to the above molten metal. In this case, the optical fiber supply means 4 is constituted of a double-rod-type air cylinder 10 where through holes for supplying the optical fiber 2 is provided from one rod 8 to another rod 9 at the center of a cylinder rod and a chuck 11 for fixing the optical fiber 2 to the rod 9, thus accurately measuring the temperature of the molten metal.
