Title:
TEMPERATURE RESPONSE CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04321307
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To operate a power semiconductor device within a safe operating range by decreasing a maximum current which flows into the device, when the temperature of the device rises. CONSTITUTION: This temperature response circuit 100 is provided with a temperature sensor 1, a 1st current source 2 that is provided in series with a sensor 1 and produces a prescribed current I1 , and a sensor 3 that has an output terminal 4 and generates a voltage signal V4 changed with the temperature sensed by the sensor 1. A current-limiting circuit 6 is connected to the output terminal 4 of the sensor 1. The circuit 100 is also provided with a 2nd current source (Q10, Q12) that supplies a current relating to the prescribed current I1 , when a voltage at the output terminal 4 of the sensor 3 corresponds to a temperature below a critical temperature and that supplies a current decreased with a temperature rise, when the temperature rises over the critical temperature, so as to decrease an output current Iout of the temperature response circuit attended with a temperature rise in excess of the critical temperature.
