Abstract:

To provide a temperature sensitive expansion valve for maintaining a closed valve state, even if the degree of apparent superheating is taken by the exit of a refrigerant evaporator when a refrigeration cycle stops.

A valve-opening means 16 consisting of a mounting part that is supported by a heat transfer rod 12 and a bimetal that is deformed (curved) at a specific temperature (for example, 20°C) or higher for the mounting part is placed at an inflation valve 1. When a vehicle is stopped for a long time during, for example, summer where the fresh air temperature is high, the atmosphere temperature of the exit part of a refrigerant evaporator 5 increases up to the fresh air temperature. On the other hand, since the temperature of a refrigerant compressor 2 with a slow temperature increase due to a larger thermal capacity is low, the degree of apparent superheating is taken by the exit part of the refrigerant evaporator 5. At this time, when the temperature of the refrigerant steam being evaporated by the refrigerant evaporator 5 reaches, for example, 20°C or higher, the bimetal is deformed, thus pushing up the heat transfer rod 12 upward and hence enabling a spherical valve 14 to be seated at a valve seat 10 and fully closing an orifice 9.
