To provide a temperature sensor excellent in temperature detection stability, thermal response and mechanical strength at the part for fixing a thermal element.
A holding body 7 is formed on the terminal part side of stripe metal plate parts 3a, 3b extending from a pair of terminal parts connecting an external lead wire 12 and a recess 4 is made at the forward end part of the stripe metal plate part 3a, 3b by making thin the plate thickness. The lead part 10 of a thermal element 9 is stretched across the recess 4 while directing the planar heat-sensitive part toward an object to be detected and connected electrically with the strip metal plate parts 3a, 3b. The heat-sensitive part of the thermal element 9 is coated with an insulating sheet 11 thus obtaining a temperature sensor.
