To temporarily support a high-voltage cable connected to a strain insulator for a prescribed period of time in place of a broken strain insulator.
A temporary holding tool for the high-voltage cable comprises: an anchoring clamp 5 which sandwiches the high-voltage cable 4 in a cable-strained state; the stain insulator 6 connected to the anchoring clamp 5; a pin insulator 3 for supporting an edge wire 8 of the high-voltage cable 4 led out of the anchoring clamp 5; and a cross arm 2 to which the strain insulator 6 and the pin insulator 3 are attached. The tool is also constituted in such a manner that the anchoring clamp 5 connected to the broken strain insulator 6 can be temporarily supported at an anchoring position of the high-voltage cable 4 at the head of an electric pole 1, a hanging part 30 hung to the pin insulator 3 is arranged at the one-side end of the device, a connecting part connected to the anchoring clamp 5 is arranged at the other end side, and an interval changing part 45 which changes an interval between the pin insulator 3 and the anchoring clamp 5 depending on the kind of the stain insulator 6 is arranged between the hanging part 30 and the connecting part.
