PURPOSE: To miniaturize a holder and reduce the manufacturing cost, by providing a storage for storing therein the tail end of a paper sheet, a drive means for positioning the storage on a conveying path and a control means for controlling the drive means.

CONSTITUTION: A holder 30 is composed of a storage 31 for storing therein the tail end of a paper sheet A and a motor 31 for rotating the storage 31. If a storage section 36 is positioned on a conveying path 30, when a paper sheet A is inserted through an insertion slot 10, a sensor 60 detects the paper sheet A and normally rotates a motor 44 to feed the paper sheet A until the tail end of the paper sheet A is positioned in the storage section 36 while the leading end thereof abuts against the pawl 71. Then the storage 31 is rotated by one pitch. The above-mentioned steps are repeated until the storage is filled. When a paper store signal is issued, the holder motor 32 is reversed to reverse the storage 31 by one pitch, and thereafter, the conveying motor 44 is normally rotated to continue the operation until no paper sheet is detected by the sensor 62.
