Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify construction work by a method in which a water absorptive polymer grain is injected into the ground to form a temporary cut-off wall by blocking the voids of soil particles with the polymer grains.
CONSTITUTION: A water absorptive polymer, consisting of starch-acrylic acid grafted polymer, etc., is suspend in a non-aqueous liquid and injected into the ground. In the ground, the polymer's volume is greatly increased to close the voids among soil particles. A flexible, highly efficient cut-off wall can be formed with such a simple construction work.
