PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of tension control of rolling equipment by taking constraining torque due to flange constraining force at the time of web reducing rolling with the finishing mill stand of the tandem rolling device for H-shape steel into consideration.

CONSTITUTION: In the tandem rolling equipment for H-shape steel with a universal mill, edger mill and finishing mill stand, flange constraining torque that is added to the flange part at the time of rolling for reducing web height with the finishing mill stand is calculated based on the detected value of temp. and deformed amount of rolled stock and tension control of rolling equipment is executed taking that into consideration. In this way, the accuracy of tension controller can be further improved.
