Title:
TENSION INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM FOR BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06292659
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To measure a blood pressure non-destructive of a blood vessel of a patient by measuring a surface stress of a tissue covering an artery by detecting a deformation of dissepiment linked to a fluctuation of the blood pressure by means of semiconductor assembly to achieve a prompt and precise measurement. CONSTITUTION: An arterial blood-pressure apparatus is composed of a main body for fastening around a patient's arm, and a sensor 20 equipped therewith and pressed against the arm via a press arm driven by a motor. The sensor 20 has a safer 30 comprising non-response 32 and response (dissepiment) 34, and the former 32 is provided so as to have the dissepiment 34 suppress the tissue covering the radial artery while the dissepiment 34 deforms in correspondence to the blood pressure fluctuation. To detect the deformation (displacement) of the dissepiment 34 a row of IR light-emitting diode 46 is provided in parallel with a row of photodetector 48 and an output of the photodetector 48 is fed to a transducer/multiplexer circuit 72 to measure the arterial pressure.
