To provide a tension leveler with which the width of a metallic sheet is efficiently controlled and a controlling method of the width of the metallic sheet by which yield is improved by reducing a trimming allowance by controlling so as to approach a constant width as much as possible by absorbing width variation which is generated by the last stage by changing the width of the metallic sheet by using the tension leveler.
A work roll 10 of the tension leveler is made into a cylindrical roll having a hollow part 15 in its interior, a liquid supply port 14 for supplying the liquid such as water and lubricating oil to the hollow part 15 is provided in a neck part 12 and also a lot of liquid jetting holes 13 extended from the hollow part 15 are zigzag arranged on the outer peripheral surface 11a of the roll barrel part 11. In this way, the liquid which is supplied from the liquid supply port 14 in the neck part 12 is fed to the liquid jetting holes 13 through the hollow part 15 and jetted from the outer peripheral surface 11a of the roll barrel 11.
