Abstract:
To provide a new tension measuring method capable of measuring tension acting on a cable.SOLUTION: A tension measuring method includes: a first reel installation step for installing a tension measuring reel having a solenoid coil forming portion on a cable; a first coil manufacturing step for manufacturing a first coil by winding a conductor around the solenoid coil forming portion; a magnetization characteristic measurement step for measuring a magnetic hysteresis loop of the cable by supplying a current to the first coil to form a magnetic field; and a tension computing step for computing the tension of the cable using a parameter obtained from the magnetic hysteresis loop. In the magnetization characteristic measurement step, the magnetic field is varied so that the magnetic hysteresis loop includes a near-saturation magnetization region, to measure the magnetic hysteresis loop. The parameter used in the tension computing step is one or more types of parameters selected from a magnetic flux amount or magnetic flux density, remanent magnetization, coercivity, magnetic permeability, and hysteresis loss in the near-saturation magnetization region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
