Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a tensioner to enable its structure to be made simple with sufficient attenuation.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an endless power transmission tensioner [1], in particular for an internal combustion engine, including a base member [2], a tension member [3] relatively rotatable around a common rotating axis in respect to the base member, a spring element [11] arranged between the base member [2] and the tension member [3] while applying a force between them, and a friction device [13] arranged between the spring member [11] and the base member [2] or the tension member [3] so as to attenuate a relative motion between the base member [2] and the tension member [3]. This invention provides a proposal in a usual tensioner that the friction device [13] is arranged outside in a radial direction of the spring member [11] so as to enable a convenient structure as well as sufficient attenuation to be attained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
