Title:
FLOATING CALIPER-TYPE DISC BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3138405
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent dragging torque from being generated after an outer pad is always slid to a disc in traveling of a vehicle, by reliably forming clearances among the disc and both pads in releasing of brake.
CONSTITUTION: An elastic member 18 whose engaging position is gradually changed according to the abrasion amount of an outer pad 14 is interposed between a support 4 and a caliper 5, and the caliper 5 is moved in the other direction while elastically deforming the elastic member 18 in braking. The returning deformation amount of the elastic member 18, namely, the length in which the caliper 5 is moved in one direction in releasing of brake, is set smaller than the length as the elastic returning deformation amount of a seal ring 12. Accordingly, a first clearance Δ is reliably formed between an inner pad 10 and a disc 1 in a state where a second clearance δ is formed between the outer pad 14 and the disc 1 in releasing of brake, and drag of disc 1 and both pads 10, 14 can be respectively prevented.
