Title:
Terminal concentric bushing with current transformer
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS3110629
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
771,744. Transformers. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Aug. 19, 1955[Aug. 31, 1.954], No. 23913/55. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XXXVI] A multiple conductor lead-in bushing or terminal for a transformer comprises an inner conductor 15 and one or more outer tubular conductors of graduated lengths (one in the embodiment shown), the inner conductor being longer than the outer conductor 16, an annular terminal flange 15c, 16c at one end of each of the conductors 15, 16 respectively, a flanged cap member 18 at the other end of conductor 15, an annular terminal flange 22 at the other end of conductor 16, a rigid tubular insulating housing 23 surrounding conductor 16, separate auxiliary insulating housings 23a, 23b surrounding each projecting end of conductor 15 and means for sealing each end of each housing to its adjacent terminal flange, the sealing means at least at one end of each of the housings including a compressible gasket 25 and the sealing means of housing 23 including an axially - expansible, spring - pressed hermetic sealing element 26, (see Group XXXVI). The conductors are separated by insulation 19 and the spaces 24, 24a, 24b within the housings are filled with oil. A bushing-type current transformer 36 may be mounted on housing 23 to provide differential relay protection to detect faults within casing 7. Since the two-conductor concentric bushing is normally surrounded by zero flux, the transformer 36 normally develops no secondary voltage, but will respond to conditions causing the two currents to be no longer both equal and in phase-opposition.
