Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically connect a terminal device to a target device without requiring any attention about a communication means matching the location of the terminal device from a user.
SOLUTION: When a USB device is attached to a home PC, a communication method (modem) of the home PC is detected. According to an IP address of an external server 250 in a location determination table, connection to the external server 250 is made for acquiring response data. When the acquired response data agree with that in the location determination table, a location (the Internet) matching the response data is decided as the current location of the home PC. Processing (connection to a VPN server) matching the location (the Internet) in a connection method table is executed, and the home PC is automatically connected to an intranet 10.
