To retrieve an access point enabling a radio LAN connection with a small consumption power in a digital camera capable of transmitting a photographing image thorough the radio LAN connection.
A database associating the discriminating information and positional information of access points connected by a radio communication section is prepared, and distances and azimuths from a current position to connectable access points are extracted from the current positional information of the digital camera and the positional information in the database storing the information of the connectable access points when radio LAN connection is impossible at data transmission. The access point at the nearest distance and the access point in the largest connection count within a fixed distance from the current position is detected on the basis of the distance information of each extracted access point, and then displayed on a display of the digital camera. A plurality of access points at near distances or with large connection counts may also be displayed.
