PURPOSE: To obtain a termini-modified polyoxymethylene (co)polymer which has a specific average molecular weight and specific terminal groups and recurring unit(s) and is useful as a modifier for a thermoplastic resin, excellent in heat stability, affinity to thermoplastic resins and additives and reactivity with other vinyl monomers.
CONSTITUTION: This (co)polymer contains oxymethylene units (A1) as a main recurring unit, and in some cases, 2-4C alkylene units (A2) as a copolymerization unit where the molar ratio of A1/A2 is 100/(0-10) and contains the terminal groups of the formula: R-O-CH2- (R is a monovalent organic group having an ethylenically unsaturated bond (for example, H2C=CH-O-CH2-O-, CH2= CH-(CH2)2-O-CH2-O- and the group of the formula) in a content of 0.002-2 moles/ polymer (kg) and has a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000-400,000.
