To obtain an artificial marble excellent in fluorescent and luminous performance and in surface hardness and abrasion resistance by adding a fluorescent or luminous pigment to a specific syrup for artificial marble and polymerizing them with heat.
A fluorescent pigment or a luminous pigment is added to an artificial marble syrup which contains inorganic fillers, preferably of silica and/or aluminum hydroxide, and a polymerization initiator such as di-2- ethylhexyl-peroxy dicarbonate where the matrix is preferably a (meth)acrylic alkyl ester monomer such as methyl methacrylate and they are polymerized with heat to give artificial marble. This marble is crushed to give artificial marble aggregate, and the aggregate is added to the marble syrup and the marble syrup mixture is polymerized with heat to give the objective Terrazzo- tone artificial marble.
