To obtain both improvement in luminance life span and heat-resistant of 100°C or higher in an organic electroluminescent (EL) element which comprises pinching a light-emitting layer between a pair of electrodes, the light-emitting layer comprising a mixture of a hole-transporting material, an electron-transporting material, and a light-emitting additive material.
The organic electroluminescent element comprises pinching a light-emitting layer 50 between a pair of electrodes 20, 80, the light-emitting layer 50 comprising a mixture of a hole-transporting material comprising a tertiary amine compound, an electron-transporting material, and a light-emitting additive material, wherein the tertiary amine compound has two or more oxidation potentials determined by a cyclic voltammetry method, a potential difference between the first oxidation potential and the second oxidation potential in the oxidation potentials is at least 0.22 V, and a glass transition temperature is at least 100°C, and wherein the electron-transporting material has a glass transition temperature of at least 100°C.
