Abstract:
Provided is a method for testing the possibility of getting cancer with less burden on a subject. The method according to the present invention for testing the possibility of getting cancer is characterized by comprising a measurement step for measuring the expression amount of telomeric repeat-containing RNA (TERRA) in a blood sample of a subject. The test method according to the present invention also comprises a test step for testing the subject's risk of getting cancer by, for example, comparing the expression amount of TERRA in the blood sample of the subject with a standard value, wherein the standard value is the expression amount of TERRA in blood samples of healthy persons or the expression amount of TERRA in blood samples of cancer patients.
