Title:
TEST TUBE FOR MEASURING ERYTHROCYTE SEDIMENTATION RATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3103308
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize quick and accurate measurement of erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) by forming a blood column in a test tube for measuring ESR and specifying the length of tubular wall part where an anticoagulant limits the air gap and the inside diameter of tube within a specified range.
SOLUTION: An anticoagulant is sucked and mixed quickly with a blood sample using a small diameter vacuum blood sampling tube filed with the anticoagulant. Consequently, the effect of anticoagulant is exhibited to the maximum and erythrocytes are suspended uniformly, as a whole, in a test tube T prior to ESR inspection. The test tube T is provided with a function for preventing an additive/anticoagulant from interfering with hemotological parameters. For that purpose, surface tension of blood sample is reduced with respect to a glass test tube T which is added with a surfactant for mixing contents quickly. The test tube T has tubular wall part and the length thereof is set in the range of 80-120mm while the inside diameter is set in the range of 5-7mm. The surfactant has radiation stability and a nonionic buffer trisodium citrate, for example, which allows the test tube T to be sterilized with cobalt 60.
