PURPOSE: To make a tester compact and simplify its maintenance and checking, by enabling a test of a water wheel speed governor without rotating a water wheel.
CONSTITUTION: A DC motor 12, which is controlled by a thyristor Leonard apparatus 11, is directly coupled to an electric generator 13 for hydraulic power generation. The water wheel speed governor 14, which performs speed governing action when the revolution speed of the electric generator 13 varies, is connected thereto. A servomotor 15, which is connected to the thyristor Leonard apparatus 11 through a variable resistor 16, is connected to the water wheel speed governor 14. when a mimic load increase is effected, the revolution speed of the electric generator 13 falls. As a result, the servomotor 15 is moved in an opening direction by the speed governor 14. The resistance of the variable resistor 16 is varied by the servomotor 15. At that time, a position signal is applied to the thyristor Leonard apparatus 11 to balance a closed loop. The speed governor is thus tested.
