Abstract:
PURPOSE: To test the insulation of a transformer accurately without requiring any large scale installation, by covering the high voltage terminal of the transformer to be tested with an insulator.
CONSTITUTION: The high voltage terminal part 4 of a transformer 1 to be tested is covered with a case 6 filled with an insulating oil 7 and the case 6 is connected to the housing of the transformer 1 and is thereby grounded. Since the part 4 is insulated with the oil 7, no large bushings as compared to air bushings are required and since there is virtually no partial electric discharge generated through the parts except the body of the transformer 1, the accurate testing of insulation is made possible.
