Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of the formula (wherein R1 is halo, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, CF3, alkoxycarbonyl, N,N-dialkylcarbamoyl, alkanoyl, dialkylaminosulfonyl, alkanoylamido, alkylsulfonamido, alkylureido or alkoxy; R2 is H or halo; and when R2 is halo, R1 is halo) or their salts.
EXAMPLE: 9-O-chlorobenzyl6,8-difluoro1,2,3,4tetrahydrocarbazol1-ylacetic acid.
USE: A pharmaceutical compsn. having leukotriene synthesis inhibiting action and prostaglandin antagonism.
PROCESS: The shown compd. is obtd., e.g. by dropping sodium hydride into a soln. of 6,8-difluoro1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazol1-ylacetic acid, stirring the resultant mixture at room temp. and allowing it to react with O-chlorobenzyl bromide.
