PURPOSE: To execute works at every word automatically with emphasis, abbreviation, etc., to display the resulting text, and to facilitate the read of the text by determining the display modes of respective display units by a display processing part according to a specific rule when a specified text part is displayed.

CONSTITUTION: The appearance frequencies of respective display units such as words in the text and a list of key words as extracted as constitution infor mation 14 and a display state collection part 11 accumulates and counts the number of times displayed in the display units to obtain display state informa tion 15. A display state detection part 12 observes the elapsed time of the contin uance of the same display to obtain a state value 16. Then a display processing part 13 determines a display mode with the pieces of information 14 and 15 and a display instruction specified in the test according to the specific rule. Consequently, words which are larger and larger in the number of times of appearance are smaller and smaller in character size and long names are abbre viated as the time is elapsed to display the text. The text is therefore easily read.
