PURPOSE: To obtain the thawing device for bringing low temperature steam obtained with a specific steam-producing menas into contact with a frozen material to be thawed and for thawing the frezen material with latent heat accompanied by the condensation of the steam, capable of thawing the frezen material at a proper rate without deteriorating the quality of the frozen material, and excellent in the safety.

CONSTITUTION: This thawing device is provided with a steam-producing means having an atomizing means for atomizing water 2 for producing steam, a heating means for accelerating the evaporation of the atomized water, and a steam- blowing means for blowing the generated steam. The atomizing means preferably comprises an ultrasonic oscillator 9, and a steam bubble-producing means for producing fine steam bubbles is preferably disposed in the water 2 for producing the steam.
