Abstract:
PURPOSE: To treat Alzheimer diseases with excellent effects by administering idebenone in a high dose.
CONSTITUTION: This therapeutic agent for Alzheimer diseases is capable of treating the Alzheimer diseases by orally administering idebenone: 6-(10- hydroxydecyl)-2,3-dimethoxy-5-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone in a high dose of ≥50mg, especially ≥90mg at a time and a daily dose of ≥150mg, especially ≥270mg. A therapeutic composition containing the idebenone is preferably prepared as a tablet, a fine granule or a capsule containing ≥50mg idebenone and the administration period is not especially limited; however, the composition is preferably administered after each meal.
