Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a therapeutic agent for cirrhosis capable of effectively improving the physiological state of a patient suffering from the cirrhosis and effectively treating the cirrhosis.
CONSTITUTION: This therapeutic agent for cirrhosis contains a stress protein also called a heat shock protein(HSP), especially HSP47 having 47kD molecular weight as an active ingredient. An anti-HSP47 polyclonal antibody or an anti- HSP47 monoclonal antibody is preferably used as an antibody against the HSP. The daily dose thereof is about 0.01-3000mg, preferably about 0.1-500mg for an adult and daily administered in several divided portions.
