Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a composition useful for treating ocular hypertension related to angiostatic primary open gonioscopic glaucoma, containing angiostatic steroid or its salt. CONSTITUTION: This therapeutic agent contains 0.005-2.0wt.%, preferably 0.05-1.0wt.% of a compound of formula I [R1 is β-CH3 or β-C2 H5 ; R2 is H or Cl; R3 is H, O, OH, an 0-alkyl, etc.; R4 is H, CH3 , Cl or F; R2 is R4 , OH, Br, phenyl, etc.; R6 is H or CH3 ; R9 is R6 , OH, F, etc.; R10 is R6 , OH or a second bond between the 16- and the 17-positions; R12 and R14 together with H form a double bond; R13 is H, OH, 0, O-P(O) (OH)2 , etc.; R15 is 0 or OH; R23 forms a group of formula II with R10 or is OH, OP(O)-(CH)2 ; a group of formula III ((t) is 2 6), etc.] or its salt such as tetrahydrocortexolone. The agent is preferably administered once or four time on the surface of eye daily.
